Zen Climb Journey
In 1970 Brian Hibbert established Ontario’s first commercial rock climbing company, Hibbert Climbing and Enterprises, to provide saftety oriented climbing programs to students and adults. In the following 30 years, Brian taught generations of climbers without a single safety accident.
In 2001 Brian folded his outdoor climbing instruction operation due to inhibiting insurance cost following the 9.11 tragedy in New York, and began to work with Xiaoping Li under his company The Ping Way (established in 2000) to facilitate team building and leadership development using wall climbing and ropes course activities.
In 2010 Xiaoping Li established Zen Climb to offer outdoor rock climbing instruction service. In addition to inheriting some nonperishable climbing equipment from Brian, Xiaoping sought Brian’s advice on both climbing and people skills, and decided to carry on Brian’s signature torch at the crags — to help clients to have a safe climbing experience and achieve a sense of accomplishment.

Outdoor Rock Climbing and Rappelling and Rescue Courses | Ontario Climbing Guides | Rattlesnake Point | British Columbia Climbing Guides | Squamish
Our Ontario rock climbing guides and British Columbia rock climbing guides offer outdoor rock climbing courses that combine some best risk management practices used by Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) and American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA).
The progression of these courses and lessons are designed for men and women and kids to try outdoor rock climbing, for gym climbers to climb on real rocks, for experienced climbers to develop anchor setting skills, learn sport lead climbing, trad lead climb and multi-pitch climbing, and master some practical improvised self-rescue skills to prepare them for rock climbing trips in and outside Canada.
We have provided rock climbing. rappelling, anchor building with various climbing knots and self-rescue training to people preparing to ascend via technical routes to ambitious summits such as Carstensz Pyramid, Eiger, Everest and K2. Some of them just wanted to train to join expedition teams. A few of them wanted to master a wide range of skills including lead climbing to launch expedition on their own.
